Larboy’s starts with a simple belief: music feels different when we give it our full attention.
Founder Matt Marsolais is imagining an intimate Charlotte space where an album can play front to back, strangers can become regulars, and gathering matters as much as the gear. Warm, unhurried, and a little unexpected.
This is the beginning—not a finished venue. We’ll share the process honestly as the room, programming, and community take shape.

Where the name came from
Some people make a room feel better just by being in it.
Larboy’s takes its name and spirit from Matt’s Uncle Larry. His warmth, character, and gift for gathering people are the north star: make it generous, keep it genuine, and leave room for a story.
